Verification roles: How do they work and what are they for?

One of the most crucial features of our system is verification. This system is essential for the proper functionality of BrawlTools’ commands and features, as we obtain a large amount of data directly from the game.

To provide a more immersive experience, we offer advanced role settings to ensure your server integrates with BrawlTools in the best possible way, allowing members of your community to enjoy a unique level of customization. One of these options is role configuration, which the bot automatically assigns in certain cases.

When a player verifies their account, BrawlTools will assign them the verified role configured with /verify-roles (more info here). If the player is already globally verified, they only need to use the /update command, and the bot will handle syncing their profile to match the server’s settings.

For unverified members, it's important to clarify that ⚠️BrawlTools does not assign the unverified role automatically and requires external configuration for that.⚠️ However, this doesn’t mean the unverified role is useless, whenever a player updates their profile and isn’t verified, they will receive the role, and it will also be applied when accounts are unlinked.
